Delhi witnessed incessant rains in the early hours of Thursday (August 29), leading to severe waterlogging and traffic disruptions in several parts of the national capital.

Due to the continuous rain, there is a huge traffic jam in various areas including Dhaula Kuan. After the storm and lightning in the National Capital Region (NCR) on Wednesday, the rain started in the early hours of Thursday.
Commuters were seen wading through waterlogged roads while several vehicles were unable to move without any movement. The Parade Road underpass in Delhi Cantonment was completely waterlogged.
According to IMD data, 269.9 mm rainfall was recorded till August 22, which is more than the last rainfall recorded in August 2013.
Delhi witnessed unprecedented weather conditions in August this year, with the national capital recording the highest rainfall in the last decade.
After the rain, the underpasses are almost completely submerged. It is becoming difficult for vehicles to pass through here. In such a situation, people going to office are facing problems.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted in its latest bulletin that heavy rains will continue in Delhi and its surrounding areas this week. In the pictures, vehicles are seen moving on heavily waterlogged roads. People are still facing problems.
Parts of Delhi witnessed severe waterlogging after heavy rains lashed the national capital and adjoining areas on Thursday (August 29) morning.
