The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday revealed the shortlist of contenders to receive the ICC Men's and Women's Player of the Month awards for their strong performances in March. The ICC Men's Player of the Month shortlist for March 2024 includes a Sri Lankan all-rounder along with two fast bowlers from Ireland and New Zealand. No Indian player could make his place.

Fast bowler Matt Henry showed exceptional red-ball form against a strong Australian team. In the recently concluded Trans-Tasman Trophy in New Zealand, which Australia won 2–0, Henry took 17 wickets at an average of 15.7, including two five-wicket hauls. He also scored 101 runs at an average of 25.25.
Kamindu Mendis (Sri Lanka)
Returning to the Sri Lankan team for the first time after 2022, Kamindu has performed consistently well. Against Bangladesh, Kamindu along with Dhananjay de Silva made a brilliant partnership of 202 runs for the sixth wicket. Kamindu performed better in the second innings. He came in at number eight and added 173 runs with Dhananjay for the seventh wicket. During this, he played a career best inning of 164 runs.
Mark Adair (Ireland)
Since making his international debut in 2019, he has become an integral part of the Ireland setup across all formats. Mark Adair played an important role in his team's historic Test victory over Afghanistan in March. He achieved the feat of taking 5 wickets for the first time. Adair was chosen player of the match for his excellent performance in the match. His eight wickets came at an average of just 11.87. After this he took 3 wickets in the ODI series and then 5 wickets in the T20 series.
