Why did Suryakumar Yadav not come to bat against Oman?

The final league stage match of the Asia Cup is underway between India and Oman. India won the toss and elected to bat first. Team India's batsmen rained fours and sixes, but Oman's bowlers continued to take wickets at a rapid pace.

Oman dismissed eight Indian players. However, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav, who came in to bat at number three in the match against Pakistan, remained in his batting pads throughout the match against Oman and did not come out to bat even after India had lost eight wickets.

Why did Suryakumar Yadav not pick up the bat?

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav explained his reasons for choosing to bat first after winning the toss. After winning the toss, he said, "We haven't had the opportunity to bat first in the last two matches of this tournament. That's why we want to bat first in the match against Oman." The captain further said, "By batting, we also want to test the team's batting abilities." Captain Suryakumar Yadav is fully fit, but he sat outside the field and watched all the Indian batsmen bat.

The Indian batsmen scored runs, but the Omani bowlers also kept taking wickets. India's first wicket fell in the second over at the score of 6. Shubman Gill was out after scoring only 5 runs. After this, Abhishek Sharma, who was batting explosively, was out at the score of 38. Sanju Samson scored the most runs for India in today's match. Samson played a half-century inning of 56 runs in 45 balls. Akshar Patel scored 26 runs, Tilak Verma scored 29 runs and Harshit Rana scored 13 runs not out. Meanwhile, India's wickets kept falling, but Suryakumar Yadav kept watching the match sitting outside the field.
