ICC T20 Ranking : Varun Chakravarthy becomes world number-1 T20 bowler

Indian spinner Varun Chakravarthy has achieved the No. 1 spot in the ICC Men's T20I bowling rankings for the first time. He became the third Indian bowler to achieve this position after Jasprit Bumrah and Ravi Bishnoi. The 34-year-old bowler earned this honor based on his recent performances. Varun is also performing well for India in the 2025 Asia Cup.

Varun Chakravarthy conceded just 4 runs in his 2-over spell against UAE and took 1 wicket. The 34-year-old spinner also took 1 wicket for 24 runs in his 4-over spell against Pakistan. He has jumped 3 places to number one in the ICC T20 bowling rankings, becoming the first bowler in history to do so.

With a rating of 733, Varun has reached the number one position, a position previously held by New Zealand's Jacob Duffy. He has slipped to second place. Apart from Varun, Ravi Bishnoi has also dropped two places to the top 10. He has not been included in the Asia Cup squad. Bishnoi has now slipped to number 8.

Men's t20i Batting rankings

Indian opener Abhishek Sharma has achieved a career-best ranking in the ICC T20I Batsmen Rankings. He received this award after scoring 31 runs in the Asia Cup 2025 match against Pakistan. Abhishek is currently ranked first in the T20I Batsmen Rankings.

England's Phil Salt and Jos Buttler have each gained one spot to be placed second and third, respectively. Meanwhile, India's Tilak Varma has dropped two spots. Captain Suryakumar Yadav and Yashasvi have also lost ground, while vice-captain Shubman Gill has gained four spots to reach 39th. South Africa's Dewald Brevis has jumped two spots to 11th, and Aiden Markram has moved up 10 spots to 30th.
