Duleep Trophy 2024, is set to return on September 5, 2024. The event marks the start of India's upcoming 2024 domestic season. This year's tournament is particularly important as it will be a crucial platform for Indian cricketers to cement their places for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh in September. Several top players such as KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan and Yashasvi Jaiswal will look to cement their Test places in the competition.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has introduced a new format for the Duleep Trophy this season, moving away from the traditional zonal structure to feature four teams each. Teams A, B, C and D will compete in a round-robin format, with no knockout stage. The team with the most points at the end of the tournament will be declared the winner. The tournament will be played at three venues, Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh (Grameen Vikas Trust Stadium and ACA ADCA Ground) and Bengaluru (M Chinnaswamy Stadium) and will conclude on September 22.
