Delhi Capitals (DC) Released and Retained Players List

 Delhi Capitals has released the list of players released and retained by them ahead of the IPL 2024 mini-auction in Dubai on December 19. Capitals have dropped a total of 11 players from the team including the West Indies batsman. Rovman Powell and South African batsman Riley Rossouw.

Of the 11 players released, four are foreign and seven are domestic players. Separating the players on the basis of skill, three of the players released are bowlers while eight are batsmen.

Last year, the Capitals had a very poor season as they lost nine out of 14 games and finished second on the points table with only five wins and 10 points. Prithvi Shaw, who had a tough time with the bat last season, has been retained. According to the coaches, Prithvi Shaw was expected to have a 'bumper season' last year, but he failed miserably before being dropped from the team.

Now 15 players are left in the Delhi team. They will also be boosted by the return of Rishabh Pant whose return has been confirmed by DC Cricket Director Sourav Ganguly.

For the mini-auction, Delhi Capitals had Rs 4.45 crore before releasing the players. According to IPL rules, teams will also get their additional allowances (Rs 5 crore).
