Lanka Premier League 2023
Players were auctioned for the first time in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) in Sri Lanka, which is facing an economic recession. Dilshan Madushanka was the most expensive player in this auction held in Colombo. The Sri Lankan left-arm fast bowler was bought by defending champions Jaffna Kings for a record $92,000 (Rs 75,61,912). Five franchises are participating in the tournament, while all the legendary players from all over the world will play in this league just like the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Suresh Raina's name was also included in the auction of this league, but his name was not called for the bid. Pakistan players do not play in IPL but this is not the case in Lanka Premier League (LPL). All Pakistani players play in LPL.
