The Ashes 2023 - The first Test match of the Ashes series between England and Australia is being played at Edgbaston. England had declared the first innings at 393 for 8 wickets, in response Australia's team's first innings was reduced to 386 runs. England got a seven-run lead on the basis of the first innings. Meanwhile, England's star fast bowler James Anderson has achieved a major achievement. On the third day of the match, Anderson broke the 118-run partnership of Alex Carey and Usman Khawaja.

James Anderson completes 1100 wickets in first-class cricket
James Anderson opened his account in the ongoing Ashes series by dismissing Australia's wicket-keeper batsman Alex Carey. During the first session of the third day, Alex Carey was given life by wicketkeeper Johnny Bairstow. Carey hit consecutive fours in the 99th over, after which Anderson clean-bowled him on a Yorker ball.
