India all-rounder Washington Sundar's Twitter account hacked
, Indian cricketer Washington Sundar's Twitter account was hacked on Monday, June 5. The hacker tweeted a post on his account with a link to cryptocurrencies. Significantly, this is not the first time that a cricketer's social media account has been hacked. Earlier, Krunal Pandya's account has also been hacked. At the same time, the Twitter account of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) was hacked twice in September 2021 and in January 2023.

Washington Sundar is at Sunrisers Hyderabad, the 2016 champions in the IPL. The Aiden Markram-led franchise had a disappointing season as they finished at the bottom of the points table with just 8 points. A hamstring injury forced him to pull out of the 16th edition of the lucrative league, costing him a lot of time. In seven matches, the 23-year-old bowling all-rounder picked up only three wickets at an average of 48.66 and an economy rate of 8.26.

Cricketers' accounts have been hacked earlier too - RCB had earlier this year stopped posting NFT-related tweets on the franchise's timeline. The hacker changed the profile photo and name to 'Bored App Yacht Club' and shared tweets related to NFTs, which were reposted by other users related to NFTs. In 2022, India's all-rounder Krunal Pandya's account was also hacked by a bitcoin scammer. A tweet from the hacked account stated that they were selling the account for bitcoin.
