Two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bid on eight players in the IPL mini-auction. Shahrukh Khans team added foreign players like all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and David Visa. Whereas, N. Jagdishan was also included in his team.
Kolkata had released 16 of its players before the auction. During the auction, the initially calm team bid on many players in the last round. The team included eight players in their team. A total of 29 all-rounders were sold in the IPL mini auction 2023. In the auction, all 10 teams played big bets on all-rounders and bowlers. Of the 80 players bought, 70% were sold in this category, while 30% of the batsmen (including the wicketkeeper) were auctioned. Out of Rs 206.5 crore, 10 franchises spent Rs 103.95 crore i.e. 62.25% on all-rounders. 10 teams spent Rs 167 crore on 80 players.
