There have been two T20 practice matches before India vs England (ENG vs IND) 3 T20 match, Under the captaincy of Dinesh Karthik, India beat Northamptonshire by 10 runs in the second warm-up match. Earlier, India defeated Derbyshire 7 in the first warm-up match. Under the captaincy of Dinesh Karthik, the Indian team got back-to-back victories in both practice matches. In the second match, Northamptonshire won the toss and asked India to bat. India scored 149 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. After this, chasing the target of 150 runs, the opposing team was all out for 139 runs in 19.3 overs and India got the win.

Playing first, India scored 149 runs, but opener Sanju Samson was dismissed for a golden duck in the very first ball of the innings. After this Rahul Tripathi lost his wicket for 7 runs, on the other hand, Suryakumar Yadav was also disappointed and he too was out for a duck facing 3 balls. India lost their first three wickets for just 8 runs. After this Ishan Kishan tried, but he too returned to the pavilion after scoring 16 runs.

Harshal Patel scored 54 runs in 36 balls
Captain Dinesh Karthik scored a quick 34 off 26 balls with the help of one six and three fours, while Venkatesh Iyer scored 20 runs. After this Harshal Patel showed his strength and he scored 54 runs in 36 balls with the help of 3 sixes and 5 fours. Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh also lost their wickets for ducks while Chahal remained unbeaten on two runs. Out of the 8 wickets that India lost, four batsmen were dismissed for zero.
Chasing the target of 150 runs, the Northamptonshire team was completely destroyed in front of the Indian bowlers and could reach only 139 runs. Saif Zabi played the biggest innings of 33 runs for this team, while other batsmen were disappointed. Arshdeep Singh, Harshal Patel, Avesh Khan, and Chahal took two wickets each while Prasidh Krishna and Venkatesh Iyer took one wicket each for India.
