Ravi Shastri made a big statement on choosing Umran Malik for T20 World Cup

Team Indias former head coach Ravi Shastri has said a big thing about fast bowler Umran Malik. Shastri believes that Umran Malik should not be included in the Indian team for the T20 World Cup to be played in October-November later this year. Shastri said it is too early to give Umran a big break in his career and the youngster needs to be groomed to be included in the World Cup squad.

In IPL 2022, Umran Malik impressed everyone with his speedy balls. Due to his excellent performance, Umran has got a chance in the Indian team for the ongoing home T20 series against South Africa. However, Umran could not make it to the playing XI for the opening game held in Delhi on Thursday (June 9). In that match, the Indian team had to face defeat by seven wickets.

Ravi Shastri while talking to ESPN Cricinfo said, No, not in T20 yet. Take Umran with your team and prepare them. If possible, give them a chance to play 50-over cricket or Test cricket. Dress them up with the red ball team and then see how it goes
Umran Malik was retained by SRH
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) decided to retain Umran Malik before the IPL 2022 auction. Umran has bowled at over 150 kmph at regular intervals in the recent season and took a total of 22 wickets in 14 matches. During this, Umrans best performance was five wickets for 25 runs.
Umran will get a chance in the second match IND vs SA
Talking about the first T20 match between India and South Africa, the Indian bowlers failed to defend the target of 212 runs. The reason behind this was David Miller (64) and Rassi van der Dussen (75 runs), who shared an unbeaten 131-run partnership to win South Africa. With this defeat, Indias 12-match winning streak in T20 cricket came to an end. Now it will be interesting to see whether Umran can make it to the playing XI of the second T20 match to be held in Cuttack on June 12.
