Fakhar Zaman was ruled out of the T20I and ODI series with a hamstring strain

Pakistan won the three-match T20 series against West Indies 2-1. Despite winning this series, the Pakistan team (Pakistan Cricket Team) has suffered a major setback. Opener Fakhar Zaman has been ruled out not only from the third T20 match but also from the ODI series due to a strain in his left hamstring.

Fakhar Zaman suffers hamstring injury

The PCB has confirmed that Fakhar will return to Pakistan on August 4, where the medical team at the Lahore-based National Cricket Academy (NCA) will monitor his recovery. Let us tell you that during the second T20I between PAK vs WI, Fakhar Zaman was injured while chasing the ball in the outfield in the 19th over of the West Indies innings. After this, the medical examination revealed a minor strain in the left hamstring. He could not play in the third T20I and was replaced by Khushdil Shah in the team.

The Pakistan team defeated West Indies by 13 runs in the last T20 match and won the three-match T20 series 2-1. The real heroes of the Pakistan team were Sahib Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan, who made a partnership of 138 runs for the first wicket.

Top bowlers with most 5 wicket hauls in Test cricket

Many legends have etched their names in the record books in Test cricket. Batsmen have received more accolades, but bowlers have dominated the record books. And the biggest achievement for a bowler is taking five wickets in an innings or ten wickets in a match. Single-handedly dismissing half the batting team is a commendable feat, so let's take a look at the top 5 bowlers with the most number of five-wicket hauls in Test cricket.

1. Muttiah Muralitharan (Sri Lanka)

muttiah muralitharan (sri lanka)

If there is one bowler whose name is known for wickets, it is Muttiah Muralitharan. The Sri Lankan wizard is so ahead in this contest that his record seems almost unbreakable. In 133 Tests, Murali holds the amazing record of taking five wickets in an innings 67 times. Muttiah Muralitharan was a scourge for batsmen around the world. His ability to move the ball brilliantly on any surface earned him a five-wicket haul in almost every second Test match—a testimony to his unmatched influence.

2. Ravichandran Ashwin (India)

ravichandran ashwin (india)

Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has become one of India's greatest off-spinners since his Test debut in 2011. In 101 Test matches, he has 521 wickets and 37 five-wicket hauls. He has also taken ten-wicket hauls eight times, with his best performance being 7/59 against New Zealand in the 2016/17 season.

3. Shane Warne (Australia)

shane warne (australia)

Australia's Shane Warne is the best leg-spinner in Test cricket history and the first bowler to take 700 wickets in the format. He made his Test debut against India in 1992 and took 708 wickets in his 145-Test career for Australia, including a hat-trick. Warne took a total of 37 five-wicket hauls in Tests, with his best performance being 8/71 against England in 1994/95.

4. Richard Hadlee (New Zealand)

richard hadlee (new zealand)

Sir Richard Hadlee is considered to be the best bowler New Zealand has ever produced. Hadlee made his debut for New Zealand in 1973 and played his last Test in 1990. Apart from taking 431 wickets, he also became the first bowler in Test history to cross the 400-wicket mark. Hadlee's best performance was taking 9 wickets for 52 runs in the Brisbane Test against Australia in 1985. He also took five wickets in an innings 36 times and 10 wickets in a match nine times in his career.

5. Anil Kumble (India)

anil kumble (india)

Anil Kumble, India's greatest leg-spinner, broke many records in his amazing career. In a career that began against England in 1990, he took 619 wickets in 132 Tests for India. Kumble took 35 five-wicket hauls in Tests, with his best performance being a record 10/74 against Pakistan in the 1999 Delhi Test.

Highest Test run chase at Kennington Oval, London

When India's first innings ended at 224 runs in the Oval Test, it seemed as if the match had slipped out of Team India's hands. Well, the weather changed and the Indian bowlers allowed England to take a lead of only 23 runs. Now the English team has got a target of 374 runs, in response to which Ben Duckett and Jack Crowley gave England a steady start by sharing 50 runs. But the question is, will England be able to chase this huge target? Actually, statistics show that a target of 300 runs has never been achieved on the Oval ground. If England is able to do so, it will be a historic moment.

Highest Test run chase at Kennington Oval, London

The biggest run chase ever on the Oval ground in Test cricket is just 263 runs, which England achieved against Australia in 1902. Today that match is 123 years old. In 1963, West Indies achieved a target of 252 runs against England. Four scores in the top-5 list of the biggest run chases on the Oval ground are from the 20th century. The biggest run chase ever on the Oval ground in the 21st century came in 2024, when Sri Lanka defeated England while chasing a target of 219 runs.

  1. 263 runs - England vs Australia - 1902
  2. 252 runs - West Indies vs England - 1963
  3. 242 runs - Australia vs England - 1972
  4. 225 runs - West Indies vs England - 1988
  5. 219 runs - Sri Lanka vs England - 2024

In Test cricket, a target of more than 263 runs has never been achieved at the Oval ground. The Indian team has set a target of 111 runs more than this for England. If the statistics are to be believed, now only a miracle can save England from defeat, but it is also worth noting that the poor bowling style of the England team can become a problem for Team India.

This is India's 16th Test match at the Oval ground. If they defeat England, it will be Team India's third victory here. Earlier, India had won the Test match here in 1971 and 2021.
