Scoring runs in Test matches is no easy task, which is why we see most teams scoring at a rate of three runs per over in red-ball matches. However, sometimes batsmen bat fast and post big scores in a single day. While this is not uncommon, it would be wrong to say that teams have never batted together on the same day in Test cricket before. On the contrary, there have been many instances where teams and in some cases both sides have combined to score more than 500 runs in a single day of Test cricket.
