Somerset beat Essex to win their second title after 18 years
The story of Somerset's victory in the title match was written by two bowlers of the team. Coming out to defend 146 runs, Matt Henry wreaked havoc in Somerset's bowling and completely destroyed the top order of Essex. Henry bowled brilliantly, conceding only 24 runs in his 3.3 over spell and taking 4 wickets.
At the same time, Henry also got good support from his own country's spin bowler Ish Sodhi. Sodhi was very economical in his spell and took 3 big wickets for just 22 runs. That is, two Kiwi bowlers together showed the way to the pavilion to seven batsmen of Essex.
Earlier, putting in to bat after losing the toss, Somerset got off to a bad start and lost four of their big wickets while reaching the score of 68. However, Sean Dickson proved to be the savior for the team and he played a valuable inning of 53 runs in 35 balls while batting brilliantly. Dickson scored seven fours during his innings. However, after Dickson returned to the pavilion, the team lost wickets at regular intervals and the entire team was bundled out for 145 runs.
