Rohit Sharma has so far scored 3307 runs in 115 innings of 123 matches at an average of 33.07. KL Rahul is at number three in terms of scoring the most runs in T20 International cricket for India. KL Rahul has so far scored 1831 runs in 56 matches at an average of 40.68.

Apart from this, Rohit Sharma has now also become the first batsman in the world to score the most runs in T20I. He accomplished this feat by breaking Martin Guptill's record. So far 3,299 races have been registered in the name of Martin Guptill.

In this match against Sri Lanka, Rohit Sharma scored 44 runs in 32 balls with the help of 2 fours and a six. He shared a century partnership of 111 runs for the first wicket with Ishan Kishan and got India off to a great start.

Rohit Sharmas Indian side has won nine consecutive matches in T20 international cricket since their loss to New Zealand in T20 World Cup 2021.

Team India became the No. 1 side in the ICC T20I team rankings for the first time in six years after their 3-0 series win over West Indies in Kolkata on Sunday (February 20). India surpassed former T20 World Champions England who had 269 rating points to take the top spot.

Its last defeat came in the 2021 T20 World Cup group stage against New Zealand before winning its remaining three matches in the tournament against Afghanistan, Namibia, and Scotland.

After Virat Kohlis step-down from captaincy post the World Cup, incumbent skipper Rohit Sharma led India to series clean-sweeps over New Zealand and West Indies - raising the tally to nine consecutive wins in the format.

Meanwhile, Team India pacer Harshal Patel said that the dampness in the wicket made it difficult for his side to hold on to the landing area in the third and final T20I against West Indies, at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Suryakumar Yadav’s 65-run knock was backed up by a spirited bowling performance as India defeated West Indies by 17 runs in the third and final T20I.

BCCI announces home series against Sri Lanka

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today announced a change in schedule for the upcoming Paytm Sri Lanka Tour of India.

Sri Lanka will first play the T20I series comprising three matches followed by a two-match Test series, which will be a part of the ICC World Test Championship, 2021-23.

Lucknow will now host the first T20I while the next two will be played in Dharamsala.

The first Test will now be held in Mohali from March 4th to 8th and the second Test will be played from March 12th to 16th in Bengaluru.

IND vs SL

India and Sri Lanka last locked horns with each other during India’s tour of Sri Lanka 2021 in July last year. Both the teams battled against each other in an ODI and T20I series. India won the ODI series 2-1 while Sri Lanka won the T20I series 2-1.

The India vs Sri Lanka T20I series will be played first, followed by the Test series. The T20I series will commence on February 24 (Thursday) with the first encounter, set to take place at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

The 2nd and 3rd T20I will take place on February 26 (Saturday) and February 27 (Sunday) respectively. Both the clashes will take place at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.
